We exist to proclaim the testimony of a living, present Lord — one miracle at a time. Through stories, prayer, and the Miracle Day movement, we invite people into a conversation about what God is doing right now.
Every story matters. Every prayer matters. Every person matters. The goal isn't to point to ourselves — it's to point to Jesus.
Leadership
Dani & Doug Laurion
Dani Laurion — Founder & Speaker. After 13 years in a wheelchair and 4 years on a ventilator, Dani was miraculously healed on March 15, 2022. She now speaks across the country, calling people to expect that God still moves today.
Doug Laurion — Co-Founder. Doug walked the long road of illness alongside Dani. He stewards the day-to-day of the ministry and helps shepherd the growing community of testimony-sharers.
How This Began
A healing that changed everything
I used to feel like I was created from leftover pieces. I had that feeling for all of my life. April 23rd of 2022 would have been 13 years that I'd been in the chair.
In April 2009, I was hospitalized with pneumonia and diagnosed with POTS — Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. That triggered Autonomic Dysfunction, which began to affect my breathing. As things worsened, I spent most of the next decade in nursing facilities. In 2017, I underwent a tracheostomy to protect my airways. For the last four years, a ventilator was breathing for me.
Then came Lent, 2022.
At a healing service led by Dr. Mary Healy, the music was going on and I just reached up — like a child to her father — and said, "I need you. I need you to hold me and just take care of me."
At that moment, there was a word of knowledge spoken: somebody's lungs were being re-inflated. I felt like someone had turned water on in both of my ears, and it was going down my body. So I removed my vent.
When they made the altar call, I stood up. My husband Doug grabbed the wheelchair thinking he'd pull it along behind me. I said, "No — let's just walk." And I walked. The next morning, I was jumping on the bed.
The doctors, nurses, and therapists have been shocked. There is no medical explanation. It is simply God choosing to act and grant the grace.
When you pray, pray big. Pray for everything. You don't have to tone it down — God has the ability to do.
Ministry Timeline
The road that led here
April 2009
Dani is hospitalized with pneumonia and diagnosed with POTS, triggering Autonomic Dysfunction that begins to affect her breathing.
2009–2017
Years in and out of nursing facilities, increasingly dependent on medical equipment.
2017
Tracheostomy performed to protect her airways.
2018–2022
Four years on a ventilator, twenty-four hours a day.
March 15, 2022
At a healing service at St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing, Dani removes her ventilator, walks the aisle, and the next morning is jumping on the bed.
2022–Today
This Is Real Ministries is born. Speaking engagements, books, articles, and the 15th of the month Miracle Day movement begin reaching people across the country.
